This Week at Fit and Lean...(October 1st

28 Day Detox - Completed!!!!!
Congratulations Everyone!!! You've just completed
the SST 28 Day
Detoxification Program. It's a huge
accomplishment towards your health and fitness goals
and you should all be very proud of yourselves!
Since joining Fit and Lean, I've completed four
Detox programs. Two 28 Day
plans and two of the
14 Day Plans. Larry recommends that we detox
4 times per year and as such, it is a regular part
of our Fit and Lean dietary protocol.
I
have to admit that this detox was harder on me than
others in the past. I experienced very low energy
levels during the first two weeks on the plan.
Maybe because coffee was taken out of my diet...
Let's just say that I'm a huge coffee fan... it's
definitely a vice of mine!!!!
Also, I really noticed that during the first two
week phase, when we were eating a lot of "good carbs"
(a.k.a., fruit, brown rice, brown rice cereal &
pasta, legumes, beans) I experienced an overall
feeling of bloating, lethargy and a slight temporary
weight gain. When discussing this with the
Trainers, they said it was only a temporary state.
And, that if detox teaches me nothing else, it
teaches me that the "high carb" diet (even if
they're good carbs) shows me how intolerant my body
is to consuming them.
Just to note, as soon as I entered the 3rd
week of Detox, when the "carbs" including fruit were
taken out of our diets and animal & dairy proteins
were reintroduced, my energy levels as well as
everything else returned to normal.
